The major challenge for the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Nepal is the lack of adequate charging infrastructure and the need for significant upgrades to the power grid. While Nepal has vast hydroelectric potential, the existing electricity distribution system is not fully equipped to support the widespread use of EVs. Additionally, the high upfront cost of EVs, limited availability, and public concerns about battery range and reliability further hinder widespread adoption. Addressing these infrastructure and cost barriers is crucial for promoting EV use across the country.
