If you are here after all of my tutorials mentioned previous, then you have clear mindset on how vast is forensics section. Here, each and every small details can lead to suspect.

Now, in this tutorial of Digital Forensics, I am going to show step by step lab on web forensics related to last searches in browser. Tools we are going to use is “MyLastSearch” by Nirsoft.

MyLastSearch utility scans the cache and history files of your Web browser, and locate all search queries that you made with the most popular search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) and with popular social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, MySpace). The search queries that you made are displayed in a table with the following columns: Search Text, Search Engine, Search Time, Search Type (General, Video, Images), Web Browser, and the search URL. You can select one or more search queries and then copy them to the clipboard or save them into text/html/xml file.

Step 1 : Run “MyLastSearch” Tool

Step 2 : It will automatically lists search history. Or you can refresh it too.

Step 3 : You searched some term and you deleted it from chrome browser ? It will list that deleted search too.

Step 4 : Let’s search term “web forensics” and delete it from chrome browser. And let’s see the search list in mylastsearch.

Look, I’ve deleted search term.
